We've been fighting the massive over-consumption of plastic shopping bags since 2002 and have made a significant impact - inspiring hundreds of news stories and empowering individuals with practical products and activist tools. Is the plastic bag the worst thing adversely affecting our environment? Probably not. However it is very important because of its ubiquitous nature. Nearly all of us use them -- all the time. Pervasive and out of control, it is a powerful symbol of consumerism gone wild. The mindless over-consumption of plastic bags is just plain dumb and we are helping make it a thing of the past.
